Teaching and Travel

Me at English Bay, Vancouver Nov 2015

In November of 2015 I spent some time in Vancouver visiting friends, attending the
culture crawl and going to an orientation for the M.A.A. program at Emily Carr (love the Low Residency program and to attend is a big goal of mine). I headed back in May of 2016 to lead two creative workshops for the Do Less Retreat in Bowen Island, held by Tim Cyr of the Do Less Project.

Travelling gives me such a creative jolt and visiting a city like Vancouver always makes me curious and happy. When I can stroll beautiful city streets, eat spectacular
food, see great art, and go to the beach, all in one day, I know I’m in the right place. Also in May 2016 I was able to see the Vancouver Art Gallery’s exhibit, Mashup:The Birth of Modern Culture, which included many of my favourite artists, including Hannah Hoch, Joseph Cornell and Robert Rauschenberg.

I do enjoy when travel and teaching can align to create such wonderful experiences.
I’ll quote part of my Instagram account summary, “…I look for opportunities to teach,
facilitate, collaborate & create. Will travel.”

If you are like me, you are eager for Spring when we can stretch out and live outside again. I am looking forward to many outdoor painting projects this year and am currently scheduling my busy spring, summer and fall seasons so that once the snow has melted I am ready to begin.

If you are interested in any of the services that I offer, contact me today to secure your project high on the priority list. Enjoy a creative environment all summer long. While we wait for Spring I am available for indoor projects including wall murals and commissions for your home and work space. Creative environments promote positive energy and a healthy outlook on life.

Below are some past painting projects, click to enlarge the image card. Many more custom designed options are available to you; consider fabric paintings as window coverings, or painted feature walls instead of wall paper! We are limited only by our imaginations.  Also inquire about my group and private art classes, available for all ages.

Individuals progress at their own pace in small supportive groups with the encouragement and mentoring of professional artists. This year the instructors for Open Studio are Gena LaCoste, Wendy Struck and Annette ten Cate.
